The Capital of Equality float beautifully embodies the essence of Canberra. We represent a vibrant community residing in this wonderfully diverse Australian city. With the valued backing of Canberra Frontrunners, renowned for fostering inclusivity and diversity through secure and inviting walks and runs catering to LGBTQIA+ individuals and their supporters, our initiative is gaining momentum. Our float celebrates the diversity of identities within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and the power of the community to come together and champion causes.

We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people, the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we live and work, their diversity, histories and knowledge and their continuing connections to this land and community. We recognise any other people or families with connection to the lands of the ACT and region. We pay our respects to all Australian Indigenous peoples and their cultures, and to elders of past, present and future generations. We pay our respects to those amongst the LGBTQIA+ communities. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
